- BMW reportedly hikes 2026 M3 prices by $1,700 without adding any new features.
- The entry-level model now starts at $78,400 before destination and handling fees.
- M3 prices have jumped significantly since the G80 first launched back in 2021.
Well, we can add another car to the growing list that has been hit with a sizeable price hike for the 2026 model year. A newly leaked pricing guide has revealed that BMW is jacking up the prices of all 2026 M3 models by $1,700. Fortunately, it has avoided the pesky habit of some automakers and has not increased the obligatory destination and handling fee.

According to the documents shared on Bimmerpost, prices for the 2026 M3 will kick off from $78,400 for the entry-level model, $82,600 for the M3 Competition, and $87,700 for the M3 Competition xDrive. These are all $1,700 increases from the current model. The destination and handling fee remains at $1,175, bringing the total prices up to $79,575, $83,775, and $88,875 respectively.
Familiar Pricing Moves, No Added Features
It’s worth remembering that model year price hikes have long been common, even before President Trump returned to the Oval Office for his second stint, so these price hikes might not be related to the new tariffs.
The pricing guide reveals that production of the 2026 M3 range will start in July, but does not specify when North American deliveries will commence. No notable changes have been made to the model for 2026, so it’s not as though customers are getting any extra features for their money.
Prices Keep Climbing for the G80 M3
As noted by BMW Blog, prices of the G80-generation M3 have soared since the model first hit U.S. showrooms in March 2021. At launch, the standard M3 started at $69,900. The rear-wheel-drive M3 Competition was priced at $72,800, while the all-wheel-drive Competition xDrive came in at $76,900. Fast forward a few years, and each version has crept up by several thousand dollars, with the range-topping model now edging close to $90,000 before you even start adding options.

For some perspective, the 2025 Mercedes-AMG C63 S starts at $85,050. It hasn’t earned quite the same praise as the G80 M3, mostly because it’s powered by a high-strung, tech-heavy four-cylinder rather than something with more traditional muscle. Still, it packs a lot of modern technology into a package that, on paper, slightly undercuts the top-trim M3. Depending on what you value, BMW’s price tag may seem more justifiable. Or not.
