- Mosslr reimagines the SLR Stirling Moss with wild styling and even wilder powertrains.
- The limited-run speedster will offer a choice of two V8s or an 838 hp V12 engine.
- Pricing for the car starts from €710,000 and rises to €790,000 for later production units.
You may not have heard of Engler Automotive before, but the small company builds a crazy quad bike with 1,200 hp, dubbed the Super Quad. Now, it’s presented renderings and plans to create a modernized version of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss, known as the Mosslr. If it ever sees the light of day (which is no guarantee), it will be made in 75 examples.

Like the original car, the Mosslr is a gorgeous speedster with obvious Mercedes-Benz influences, but an even more exotic look than the original SLR. Up front, there’s a large grille as well as a pair of thin LED headlights sitting above a set of wide air intakes.

The bodywork of the Mosslr is absolutely gorgeous. It has flowing wheel arches, a hood that seems to stretch on forever, and a tiny wind deflector in front of the cabin. The sides are just as beautiful as there are the side-exiting tailpipes, just like the original. Two flying buttresses sit behind the passenger cell, while at the very rear is a curved LED light bar, two subtle wings, and a large diffuser.
Engler hasn’t shown the interior just yet, though they claim it’ll be wrapped in high-end leather. Given their previous builds, expect something flashy, probably minimal, and definitely expensive.
Two different powertrains are in the works. The entry-level model is set to rock a V8 with 740 hp, but a more powerful V8 version with 986 hp is also in the works. According to Engler, the base model will hit 200 mph (322 km/h) while the 986 hp version will be good for over 217 mph (349 km/h). For those seeking the ultimate auditory experience, a V12 with 838 hp is also on the cards.
Initial pricing for the Mosslr starts at €710,000, or around $803,000, but that won’t last. Engler plans to bump that up to €790,000 ($894,000) after the first few units. The timeline is ambitious too, with the first example expected to be built within the next 6 to 9 months, followed by full-scale production shortly thereafter.
