Jeep is almost ready to unveil the next generation of the Compass in Europe, but thanks to a few leaked photos, we get an early glimpse at the SUV ahead of its official debut. The new model shows off a boxier design compared to its predecessor and steps onto a new Stellantis platform, offering a range of powertrain options, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric variants.

The images, which appear to have originated from Brazilian website Quatrorodas, show the Compass in multiple configurations. The lime green version is likely the fully electric model, as indicated by the “e” emblem on the tailgate. Meanwhile, the white model, sporting black accents and a distinctive front skid plate, might be the rugged Trailhawk trim.

Interior Design

We also get our first look at the interior, where the new design features a large infotainment display, positioned above a row of buttons and a rotary knob. The center console and dashboard are highlighted by aluminum-style accents and what looks like plenty of storage compartments. This seems to be a high-spec model, complete with a double sunroof, head-up display, and leather upholstery with contrasting stitching.

Exterior Design

On the outside, the new Compass is more sculpted, borrowing design cues from the smaller Avenger, which, unsurprisingly, isn’t available in North America. It features sharply defined fenders and modern styling touches, including crisp LED lights and ultra-slim intakes on the front bumper. The SUV’s stance is further enhanced by boxy wheel arches and generous plastic cladding. Shorter front and rear overhang make the Compass look more nimble compared to the outgoing model.

Powertrains and Platform

One of the key features of the new Jeep Compass is the STLA Medium architecture, shared with other Stellantis SUVs like the Peugeot 3008/5008, the Opel Grandland, and the Citroen C5 Aircross. However, to set the Compass apart, Jeep is likely to add more off-road-oriented features to higher trims, particularly the Trailhawk.

More importantly, Jeep has promised an “expanded engine range with e-Hybrid, e-Hybrid plug-in, and fully electric options” for the new Compass, although non-electrified gasoline powertrains could be offered in regions outside Europe.

It’s safe to assume that at least some of the powertrain options will offer all-wheel drive, staying true to Jeep’s off-road legacy. Based on the Peugeot e-3008, the electric Compass could push out up to 321 horsepower (239 kW / 325 PS) from dual electric motors, with battery capacities of 73 kWh and 97 kWh.

Stellantis has confirmed that production of the new Jeep Compass will begin in Italy in late 2025. Although North American models were originally set to roll off the line in Canada starting in 2026, delays linked to U.S. tariffs on imported vehicles have reportedly pushed back the launch for that market.
