It’s fun to write about rare and expensive cars sold at auction, but for most of us, these cars are far out of reach. Thankfully, Mecum Auctions is now running an online sale we can all participate in, selling off no less than 113 interesting die-cast models of several cars from different eras. Whether you’re into Ferrari or just like the idea of owning a 1:18-scale model of a 1970s muscle car, there’s something for everyone here.

The models in question mostly fall into the 1:18 and 1:24 scale ranges, with many coming from The Franklin Mint, the Pennsylvania-based collectible manufacturer. Among the offerings, you’ll find a Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, a 1963 Corvette Sting Ray, a 1935 Mercedes 500 K Special Roadster, and a 1931 Bugatti Royale De Ville. If classic American muscle is more your thing, you can grab a 1970 Plymouth Hemicuda or a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado, just to name a few.

Now, don’t start thinking these models are out of your price range, most are currently going for less than $100, and some are sitting at minimum bids as low as $11. It’s one way to own a miniature version of a high-end classic without having to mortgage your house.
There are dozens of other die-cast models from different manufacturers as well. One that caught our eye is a 1:18 Chevrolet Corvette from AUTOart, still in its box. I have an AUTOart model of a Lamborghini Murcielago SV sitting on my desk and can attest to their quality. At the time of writing, it had a high bid of $46.
Other 1:18 models from brands like Bburango, Maisto, and American Muscle are also included in the sale. Some of these haven’t even attracted a single bid and could be picked up for cheap. There’s even a 1:18 scale model of a Ferrari Enzo from Hot Wheels.
For those who have a thing for big rigs, the auction includes a selection of commercial vehicles as well. From fuel tankers to box trucks, and even a collection of 12 fire trucks, there’s a little something for everyone, no matter how niche your die-cast obsession might be.
So, if you’re ready to add a miniature masterpiece to your collection, you can check out the listings and place your bids right here at Mecum Auctions over here.
