• Spy photographers have snapped the facelifted Seat Ibiza, ahead of its debut later this year.
  • The model features a more aggressive front fascia with a new bumper, grille, and headlights.
  • We can also expect a refreshed rear end as well as some minor powertrain updates.

Seat previewed the facelifted Ibiza last week and now spy photographers have snapped the updated hatchback undergoing cold weather testing. It’s heavily disguised, but we can expect a modest makeover that focuses on the front and rear ends.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){
adpushup.triggerAd(“0f7e3106-c4d6-4db4-8135-c508879a76f8”);
} else {

}
});

While there isn’t much to see, Seat has already shown the model completely undisguised. As a result, we know the popular subcompact will be given a sporty makeover that includes a more expressive grille as well as restyled headlights. The latter continue to have triangular LED accents, but they’re less pronounced this time around.

Further below, there’s an aggressive front bumper with angular accents that channel air into vertical intakes. There’s also a new central opening that has a black surround.

The rest of the car largely carries over, but the rear end sees a handful of subtle updates. The most noticeable are new taillight graphics and a lightly revised rear bumper. The latter now features angular reflectors as well as a streamlined designed.

Spy photographers didn’t get a good look inside, but we can likely expect a number of updates to keep things fresh. While nothing is official, we wouldn’t be surprised to find an upgraded infotainment system as well as some other minor changes.

Engine options are shrouded in secrecy, but the current model offers 1.0-liter mills with outputs of 79 hp (59 kW / 80 PS), 94 hp (70 kW / 95 PS), and 114 hp (85 kW / 116 PS). Customers can also opt for a 1.5-liter TSI engine developing 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS). These can be connected to five- and six-speed manuals as well as a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
